render1_2The Ecometer is a display in three parts intended for domestic use. Inspired by early eighteenth century technology, the display, which indicate water, electricity and gas/oil consumption in a private household, consists of strung-up springs and cylinders containing a colored glass-marble each. The positioning of each element to each other as well as to the space the device occupies, serves as indicator of both current and desirable use on a daily and monthly basis.

Reading the Ecometer does require learning the symbolism of the display, in doing so it both protects the data of the user as well as adding to the slightly “odd technology” flair of the device.
